Come check out the PPL windows along Empire Street re-imagined by Nordstrom’s design experts!

We’re partnering with Nordstrom to bring the retailer’s visual merchandising expertise to Empire Street. The Nordstrom Visual Merchandising team from Providence Place Mall, completed the first of three window installations this past week. The visual displays will highlight teen programs at PPL taking place during Portals.

The first installation is a teaser for Teen Squad: Fashion Forward, fashion design workshops in collaboration with RISD|CE. These classes integrate interest-driven exploration with historical content and 21st-century design skills. Students will have access to the library’s non-circulating Special Collections materials to inspire their own work. The designs created in class will be exhibited in the second Nordstrom installation on Empire Street.

The third installation, will be curated by teens as the Nordstrom staff helps them re-imagine the library’s windows. Participants will learn how to design eye-catching presentations during a series of workshops taking place May 9-18. Teens will work together to create displays that incorporate the Summer Reading theme of Wellness, Fitness & Sports. Projects will be on display from Mid-May to early August.
